The Bowery Presents and Spotify Presents Late Nights at Mercury Lounge – A Free Spotify Series

July 17, 2011 – August 28, 2011

Presenting Sponsor: Spotify

In an effort to raise public awareness about its US launch, Spotify, the music-listening-and-sharing platform, partnered with The Bowery Presents to launch a series of free late-night shows at Mercury Lounge. The Spotify Presents concert series, held in Summer 2011 at this 250-person venue owned by The Bowery Presents, included a series of free shows from local and nationally recognized artists like the Black Angels, Surfer Blood, the Suckers and Oberhofer. The concert-event series was featured on brooklynvegan.com, freeconcertseries.com and many other online blogs.

The series promoted Spotify’s launch by offering guests a Spotify account and free drink tickets to the first 50 guests in attendance. At the time of the launch, Spotify accounts were available only by invite. Guests who attended any of the Mercury Lounge shows were invited to join Spotify with a free month of Premium access. The Mercury Lounge series was pushed through social media campaigns across the Mercury Lounge and Bowery Presents Twitter handles.
